We were invited to speak at the inaugural meeting of this group.  Among those present were senior personnel from CPRE (Campaign for the Protection of Rural England), the London Assembly, and representatives of concerned residents' groups located near helicopter facilities.

We challenged the accepted wisdom that asserts that business would suffer if helicopter flights were to be restricted below today's levels.  Where's the proof?  If New York City can achieve this reduction, who are we to believe this often-repeated old saw.

As a result of this meeting our Coalition and the Greater London Assembly have confirmed that they will work together to quantify the degree of nuisance suffered in the capital from non-essential helicopter flights such as tourism, media and training.
